Our story
Built on legacy—and lifted by discipline
Ligon Legacy Farms exists because good goats don’t just happen. They’re built through intentional goals, long hours, and the humility to keep learning in a competitive industry where consistency separates real programs from the rest. We are a show‑focused Boer operation committed to producing goats that can compete, breed forward, and represent our program the right way. That means we’re deliberate about what we keep, thoughtful about what we sell, and intentional in how our goats—and our name—are presented. We also offer private goat rentals, which range from educational experiences to events that are simply about having fun. These opportunities allow people—especially those who might not otherwise get the chance—to experience livestock up close, ask questions, and enjoy being around goats. Sometimes it’s about learning, sometimes it’s just about fun, and often it’s both.
Meet Jasper
The Ligon Family leads Ligon Legacy Farms with a straightforward philosophy: treat people fairly, keep records honest, and never cut corners on animal welfare.
Whether you are buying your first prospect or adding a cornerstone buck, you can expect patient answers, transparent history where available, and a partner who wants your pen to succeed—not just a single transaction.
Why Boer goats
The Boer goat is a highly recognized meat-goat breed worldwide—and within that breed, show lines push type, muscling, and breed character to a refined standard.
We focus on Boers because their depth of genetics, industry demand, and show community create opportunity for serious breeders—and because done right, they are simply impressive animals to raise.
